Accounting support for Canadian CPA firms — built around the moment that matters: your review.
Redleaf provides white-label bookkeeping, year-end compilation preparation, and T2 corporate tax support to CPA firms across Canada. Every engagement ends the same way — a file on your desk that's indexed, referenced, and tied out, ready for a partner to review and sign.
Bookkeeping for CPA firms and their clients
We maintain your clients' books in QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, or Xero on a fixed close schedule — transactions coded to your chart of accounts, every balance sheet account reconciled, and GST/HST tracked so filings are never a scramble. For firms, that means offering clients monthly bookkeeping profitably without tying up staff who should be doing year-ends.
The difference partners notice: our bookkeeping is done by people who know what the year-end file needs. Clearing accounts get cleared. Intercompany balances agree. Shareholder transactions are flagged as they happen, not discovered in March.
What your firm receives
- Monthly or quarterly close on an agreed calendar
- All bank, credit card & loan accounts reconciled
- GST/HST tracked and return-ready
- Payroll postings agreed to source reports
- Management reports on your firm's template
- Query list in working-paper language
Year-end preparation: complete CSRS 4200 compilation working papers
This is the core of what we do. We take the client's records from trial balance to a complete year-end file: lead sheets by section, adjusting entries with support attached, continuity schedules that roll forward correctly, and draft financial statements with a draft compilation engagement report on your firm's template — prepared to CSRS 4200 and ASPE, with working paper files built in CaseWare or your firm's preferred working-paper software. Your firm reviews, finalizes, and issues the report under its own name.
Files follow your firm's index and referencing conventions — or ours, which were built inside a GTA firm and will feel immediately familiar. Either way, your review starts at reviewing, not at reorganizing. Preparation moves to us; the engagement, the judgement, and the signature stay entirely with your firm.
What your firm receives
- Indexed working paper file, cross-referenced throughout
- Lead sheets for every statement section
- Adjusting journal entries with supporting documents
- CCA, loan, equity & intercompany continuity schedules
- Draft financial statements per CSRS 4200 & ASPE
- Draft compilation engagement report on your template
- Points-forward memo for next year's file
T2 corporate tax return preparation support
For owner-managed Canadian-controlled private corporations (CCPCs), we prepare the T2 return and schedules to draft stage in TaxPrep or Profile — whichever your firm uses — with GIFI mapped from the final trial balance, CCA agreed to the year-end file, and the small business deduction, dividend, and shareholder loan positions worked through and documented for your review.
Because the same team prepares the books, the year-end file, and the return, nothing gets lost in translation between the three — the most common source of T2 review queries simply disappears. During tax season, this is the capacity that lets your firm take on more corporate returns without adding permanent staff.
What your firm receives
- Draft T2 prepared in TaxPrep or Profile
- GIFI (S100/S125) mapped and agreed to final TB
- S1 reconciliation with support for each adjustment
- S8/CCA agreed to the year-end file
- Dividend, RDTOH & shareholder schedules worked through
- Reviewer notes flagging judgement areas for the partner
Bookkeeping cleanup and catch-up services for behind or messy books
Behind books, abandoned reconciliations, a mid-year software migration, or a new client whose records arrive in a shoebox — we rebuild to a clean, reconciled trial balance with a documented summary of what was fixed and what assumptions were made. Firms often use a cleanup engagement as the low-risk first project with Redleaf: bounded, clearly scoped, and easy to judge.
These engagements are scoped carefully up front: we review the state of the records first and quote the work honestly, so there are no surprises for you or your client.
What your firm receives
- Diagnostic review before work begins
- Rebuilt, fully reconciled trial balance
- Cleanup memo documenting corrections & assumptions
- Opening balances agreed to prior filings
- A maintenance plan so it stays clean
Built for Canadian public practice, at every size
Redleaf supports CPA firms across Canada — with particular depth in the Greater Toronto Area, where our founder spent five years in public practice.
The practice of one that works like three
For sole CPAs, delegating preparation is the difference between capping the client list and growing it. You review and sign; we carry the preparation hours that used to consume your evenings.
Capacity without the hiring gamble
For firms of two to ten, every hire is a bet. Redleaf gives you a trained preparation team without recruitment risk, training time, or the fixed cost of a seat that's idle in the off-season.
Overflow that meets your standards
For established GTA and regional firms, we absorb compilation and T2 overflow at peak season — on your templates, at your file standard, through your review process.
How engagements are structured
Three principles govern every Redleaf engagement, whatever its size.
Fixed scope, transparent pricing
Every engagement is scoped and priced in writing before work begins — per file, per month, or per season, whichever fits your practice. No hourly meters running quietly in the background.
White-label throughout
Your templates, your file structure, your letterhead. If we communicate within your systems, we do so under protocols you define. Your client relationship is never touched.
Quality gate before delivery
Every file passes founder-level review against Canadian standards before it reaches your firm. You should be finding judgement questions in review — not mechanical errors.
Wondering how client data is protected across all of this? The full framework — devices, access, data flow, and PIPEDA alignment — is on our data security page, and the people behind it are on our about page.
The Canadian public-practice stack, end to end
…and much more — we adapt to your firm's stack, not the other way around. All product names are trademarks of their respective owners.
See the standard before you send a file.

What is white-label accounting outsourcing?
White-label outsourcing means an external team prepares bookkeeping, year-end working papers, or tax files under your firm's own name, templates, and file structure. Your clients never see our name — your firm remains the client-facing professional, and your review and signature govern every file. In practice, Redleaf operates as an extension of your team.
Can Canadian CPA firms outsource compilation engagement preparation?
Yes. Preparation work on compilation engagements can be outsourced, provided the engagement stays under your firm's control: you perform the review, you issue the compilation engagement report, and client confidentiality obligations are maintained throughout. Redleaf prepares complete CSRS 4200 working paper files specifically for that partner review and sign-off.
Is outsourcing accounting work offshore safe for client data?
It depends entirely on the provider's controls — which is why we publish ours. Redleaf works inside your existing cloud environment on encrypted, company-managed devices, with per-engagement access, confidentiality agreements with every team member, and PIPEDA-aligned handling policies. Client data is never migrated to unmanaged storage. The full framework is on our data security page.
How much does bookkeeping or year-end preparation support cost?
Every engagement is a fixed, written fee — per file, per month, or per season — agreed before work begins. Costs are typically a fraction of equivalent Canadian staffing, but we scope each engagement individually because honest pricing depends on the state of the records and the work involved. You'll have the number in writing before anything starts.
Is there a minimum commitment?
No. Every relationship starts with a single pilot file so you can judge the working papers directly. We'd rather earn the second engagement than contract for it.
Which software do you work in?
Bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, and Xero (QBO and Xero certified); year-end working papers in CaseWare; T2 preparation in TaxPrep and Profile — plus whatever your firm's own stack requires. We work inside your existing environments — client data is not migrated out to our systems.
How do time zones work with a team in India?
We maintain real overlap with Toronto business hours for calls and queries — and the time difference works in your favour: files worked on overnight are ready for your morning review. During tax season, that overnight cycle effectively adds a shift to your firm.
Can Redleaf solve tax season capacity problems?
It's one of the main reasons firms come to us. Redleaf lets you ramp preparation capacity for year-end and T2 season without hiring permanent staff — then scale back after April without layoffs, idle seats, or goodbye lunches.
Who actually does the work?
A small, trained team in our own office — not gig workers, not subcontractors — working under confidentiality agreements and founder-level review. As we grow, that structure doesn't change; it's designed in. Meet the founder on our about page.
How do we start?
A 30-minute intro call, then a written pilot proposal — one file, fixed scope, fixed price. Secure access is set up through your own systems, and the first file arrives review-ready so you can judge the work before committing to anything further.
